The Dinah Eng Leadership Fellowship will provide financial aid to mid-career Asian-American journalists (with five years of experience or more) who are seeking to advance their leadership skills as participants in programs like ELP, university-level management programs, and leadership courses at institutions like Poynter,  API and journalism schools that charge tuition for attendance.  These fellowships are not intended to defray costs for Unity or AAJA convention-related attendance.

About Dinah Eng
Dinah Eng is a columnist and freelance writer for Scripps Howard News Service. Ms. Eng, a past president of AAJA is the founder of the AAJA’s Executive Leadership Program and served as its director for its first 15 years. She has received numerous awards, including the Columbia University Distinguished Service to Journalism Award and the National Association of Minority Media Executives Lawrence Young Breakthrough Award.

Upon Ms. Eng’s retirement as the director of the Executive Leadership Program in 2010, this fellowship was established in recognition of her work and dedication to AAJA’s goal of furthering diversity in the journalism profession and industry, so that AAJA members have the opportunity and the tools to get to the next level in their careers.
